Mr. McGuire: “I want to say one word to you. Just one word.”
Benjamin: “Yes, sir.”
Mr. McGuire: “Are you listening?”
Benjamin: “Yes, I am.”
Mr. McGuire: “Plastics.”
Benjamin: “Exactly how do you mean?”
Mr. McGuire: “There's a great future in plastics.”
Of course every article that even comes close to mentioning plastics quotes that fabulous scene between Benjamin and Mr. McGuire in the 1967 film, The Graduate. It’s too good to ruin the tradition. If you’ve never seen it and/or are too young to have ever heard about the film, go see it.
Though the scene was intended to show the differences between the generations, Mr. McGuire’s advice was spot on. Today, in the United States, the plastics industry is extremely successful and the future outlook remains strong. Plastics are found in nearly everything we use, such as bottles, food trays, squeeze bottles, grocery bags, trash bags, food storage bags, just to name a few of what we use.
Believe it or not, plastics is actually a science, just like physics and chemistry, and engineers, researchers, and developers earn degrees and dedicate their careers to its study and development.
Some plastics contain toxins and some are not biodegradable. So, many scientists dedicate themselves to improving plastics. High density plastic or High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is considered a low hazard plastic, which is less toxic and more biodegradable.
Ecomass Technologies
Since 1998, Ecomass Technologies has been delivering groundbreaking solutions through advanced engineering and know-how. Its trained, skilled, and highly experienced engineers and scientists focus on the formulation and development of high density thermoplastic compounds. Such compounds can be used to replace toxic plastics, as well as lead, aluminum, steel, stainless steel, brass, bronze, copper, and tungsten, which can also be toxic, as well as expensive.
Ecomass Technologies’ goal is to provide its customers with the highest quality, finest performing, and most cost-effective materials, which will then enable them to design and manufacture the finest products and parts conceivable.
Lead Free Ammunition
Ecomass Technologies is also a leader in Lead Free Ammunition or Frangible Ammunition. Frangible Ammunition is not made with the usual lead, but with combined materials of tungsten, copper, or tin. The ammunition is designed to bowdlerize upon impact and drastically reduces the risk of injuring the shooter and innocent bystanders. So far, the military has used Ecomass ammunitions for training and law enforcement personnel have also used its materials.
Ecomass Technologies has worked with the government and commercial industry to solve issues and reach goals in areas regarding electronics, defense, power generation, recreation, and transportation.
All of Ecomass Technologies’ Compounds meet the EU RoHS Directives, are 100% lead free, and contain no toxic constituents or U.S. EPA hazardous materials. They also comply with the Dodd-Frank Act, Section 1502.
If you have a special requirement, contact Ecomass Technologies today. It has probably already solved it
