At the 52nd Paris Air Show this past June, composite materials played a significant role.
The Boeing Company declared that a proposed New Midsize Airplane would include both a composite fuselage and composite wings. The fuselage tube would be a blended composite with an uncommon cross-sectional shape (neither circular or oval).
Workhorse Group Inc., manufacturer of the Horsefly package delivery drone, which United Parcel Services recently tested, debuted a Surely helicopter concept. The helicopter is intended for short commercial journeys, emergency responders, the military and perhaps city commute. Test flights are scheduled for later this year. The fuselage, propeller arms and propellers will be constructed with carbon fiber composite materials.
Other companies announced partnerships to supply thermoplastic composite materials on aircrafts.
Ecomass Technologies
For nearly twenty years, Ecomass Technologies has pioneered solutions through advanced non-toxic composite materials, engineered thermoplastics, and high gravity compounds.
Composite materials are compounds of two or more material components with different physical and chemical properties. The subsequent composite material then has characteristics that are separate and distinct from the initial materials. The composite can be used and applied across multiple industries. Examples of composite materials include building cement and engineered thermoplastics.
High gravity compounds deliver the weight and physical properties of metal with the design and manufacturing advantages of injection molded plastics.
Lead has been banned as an additive in motor fuels and regulations impact its use in every industry, especially aeronautics, not just in the United States, but also in Europe and in many other countries.
Ecomass Technologies has worked with industry and government to overcome physical property and material challenges to meet application needs. Its skill, experience, and expertise allow its customers the freedom to concentrate on form and function, while it solves problems.
Ecomass Technologies solves the material challenges its products face. Its goal is to provide its customers with the highest-performance and lowest-cost materials and let them compete and fully function in their respective markets.
All of Ecomass Technologies’ Compounds meet the EU RoHS Directives, are 100% lead free, and contain no toxic constituents or U.S. EPA hazardous materials. They also comply with the Dodd-Frank Act, Section 1502.
If you have a special requirement, contact Ecomass Technologies today. It has probably already solved it
