In February 2018, Irish Water, Ltd, the water utility company in Ireland, announced it was replacing 1.2 kilometers or a little less than one mile, of ageing water mains in the parish of Rathconnell as part of a national leakage reduction program.

The old mains were frequently bursting. Replacing them, thus, would improve water safety to the citizens and decrease system leakages. The project would better guarantee safe, clean, and dependable public water.

Irish Water will replace the worn and damaged mains with high density polyethylene pipes. The modern plastic pipes will deliver a safer, more dependable, and higher quality water supply. They will also greatly reduce leakages and require less upkeep, which will offer vast cost savings.

Ecomass high gravity compounds are engineered to replace traditional materials. They’ve replaced lead, aluminum, steel, stainless steel, brass, bronze, copper, and tungsten in a wide range of applications. They’ve replaced toxic lead projectiles, shielded x-ray and gamma rays, dampened vibrations in automobiles and sporting goods, and balanced weights.

And, now, high density compounds, like the kind Ecomass produces, are improving water safety and quality in Ireland.
