Piper Plastics recently developed KyronMax a short fiber thermoplastic material that has more mechanical strength than long-fiber thermoplastic (LFT) materials.
KryonMax also has less design and process limitations and consistently outperforms LFT polymers, particularly when assessing the molded part’s performance. Most importantly, it surpasses limitations related to LFT compounds and generates lighter, yet sturdier molded parts. The technology also utilizes much lower filler loadings, which results in a tougher structural plastic that can be applied in exceedingly aggressive applications. Still, it is easy to use and no specialized molding equipment is necessary.
KyronMAX’s unique know-how is hinged on short fiber technology. The polymer, like metal, exhibits isotropy, and has properties that are identical in all directions. It, thus, eliminates the processing and fiber breakage concerns normally associated with LFT. Engineers and designers can now mold complex parts with unsurpassed dependability and achievement.
Ecomass Technologies
Ecomass Technologies focuses on the development and production of high density engineered thermoplastics and providing material solutions to original equipment manufacturers and material processors worldwide. Its sales and engineering teams have helped government and commercial clients solve physical property challenges by developing more than 100 high gravity thermoplastic composite materials engineered for weighting, balancing, radiation shielding, and Vibration dampening applications.
Ecomass’ materials are designed to replace traditional high density materials such as lead and other metallic materials. Its high gravity compounds can be formulated up to the density of lead (11.0 g/cc) and offer metal’s weight and physical properties, but with the design and production advantages of injection molded plastics. Its high gravity compounds can be compression molded or injected, which helps customers cut costs by eliminating any need for secondary operations.
Molded Solutions
Ecomass Technologies is a premier material compounder. It is dedicated to formulating the best possible composite materials so that its customers can produce the best possible parts.
Ecomass works with its customers all the way from product conception to production and set up. It makes sure that its materials exceed expectations.
For more than fifteen years, Ecomass has developed a network of injection molding partners. These solid relationships offer customers outstanding materials, shorter lead times, and low costs.
Ecomass Compounds meet the EU RoHS Directive, are lead free and nontoxic, completely satisfy international marketplace regulatory concerns, contain no toxic constituents or U.S. EPA hazardous materials, and comply with the Dodd-Frank Act, Section 1502.
